Floating Crypto casts public market quotes into iOS Picture in Picture. Display only — not investment advice.

How to Cast

  1. Open the app and pick a coin from your watchlist.
  2. Tap Cast to Picture in Picture.
  3. Leave the app. The price stays in a system Picture in Picture window on top of whatever you do next.

If Cast fails, confirm the device supports Picture in Picture and try again. Some simulators cannot run Picture in Picture.

Cast is free with one coin

Casting to Picture in Picture is free forever with one watchlist coin, switchable at any time. The floating window is never behind a paywall. The optional $9.99 unlock is paid once — not a subscription — and adds a watchlist of up to 8 coins, up to 3 side quotes in the window, and price alerts. Unlock is not “ad-free”: there are no ads either way, and there is no account.

Why the app uses silent audio

iOS keeps Picture in Picture frames updating for apps with an active audio session. Floating Crypto plays a silent, zero-volume buffer purely to hold that session open. Nothing audible is ever played, and no audio is recorded.

Dynamic Island, Live Activity, and widgets

Dynamic Island, the Lock Screen Live Activity, and Home/Lock Screen widgets show the same last quote as the app. They update while the app or Picture in Picture is running. When both have stopped, those glances freeze — they are not a second-by-second ticker, and they are not locked behind the unlock. Picture in Picture is the near-real-time surface.

Where prices come from

Public market data from Binance, read only. Quotes are for display only. They are not investment advice. There is no trading, no wallet, no API key to paste in, and no referral link anywhere in the app.

Permissions this app does not use

Floating Crypto does not use Location, Calendar, Reminders, or Apple Music / the media library, and it does not ask for those permissions.

Price alerts

Price alerts are local notifications on this device. They are not delivered through Apple Push Notification service (APNs). Alerts are part of the one-time unlock.
